Poem for Sogno Mediterraneo

This does not happen everyday, and we are moved. It is great to have truly happy clients (and friends) who appreciate what the area is all about.

SOGNO MEDITERRANEO

We arrived at our new home in the sun
And were immediately overcome -
A profusion of colours met our eyes,
Cacophany of birdsong from the skies.
Many lizards scuttling around -
Goldfinch, warblers, birds abound.

On the horizon, Stromboli appears;
Another day, hazy, it disappears.
The sunsets are a joy to behold;
Each one different, colours so bold.

Calabrian food is a wonderful feast,
With produce so fresh and wine such a treat.
People are friendly, they stop for a while
To greet and to chat with such a wide smile.

Capo Vaticano is nearby;
Amazing views brings a sigh.
To look down from an incredible height -
The sea so calm, beaches so white.
To see the sea, an incredible hue
Of turquoise, jade and midnight blue.

The cats and dogs asleep in the road -
Tip toe past, don't disturb their abode.
Let them sleep soundly in their beautiful home,
Barbalaconi, great place to roam.

The sights, smells, sounds just from our terrace
Are rich things that we'll always cherish.
The flowers in bloom,
Bees humming in tune
We know that this means
Our Mediterranean Dream
